Health Care Volunteers Needed for
First Free Indigenous-run Hospital in Honduras

Internationalist Call for Garífuna Hospital Volunteers and Support

 

Dr. Luther Castillo, founder of the First Popular Garífuna Hospital in Ciroboya, Colon, on the northern coast of of Honduras, was hosted by CVSA and the New York Support Committee for the First Popular Garífuna Hospital for a week of speaking engagements in New York City, speaking about an alternative model to health care delivery — as a human right.

CVSA Establishes Ongoing Disaster Volunteer Information & Referral Service

In the wake of Superstorm Sandy, from which tens of thousands of families in working class neighborhoods in the New York Metropolitan area are still struggling to recover five months later, CVSA volunteers spearheaded the formation of a Disaster Relief Information Volunteer Information & Referral Service.
