In the face of catastrophic medical, economic and environmental damage to communities across the U.S. since March of last year, the burden of organizing aid and relief for the millions in need has largely fallen upon non-profits, volunteer associations and organically grown self-help mutual aid organizations resulting from a noticeable absence of federal coordination and relief.

alternative model to health care delivery — as a human right.
CVSA Establishes Ongoing Disaster Volunteer Information & Referral Service
In the wake of Superstorm Sandy, from which tens of thousands of families in working class neighborhoods in the New York Metropolitan area are still struggling to recover five months later, CVSA volunteers spearheaded the formation of a Disaster Relief Information Volunteer Information & Referral Service.
